Pushing Daisies Weekly Recap

Pushing Daisies brought another great episode this week with our favorite "hero" solving crime and taking names. The mystery this week revolved around the death of a safety specialist working on a new automobile designed to run on...dandelions. Yes, dandelions.

Ned performs his usual magic to bring the man back just long enough to find out what happened. However, the introduction of Chuck, Ned's childhood neighbor, has thrown a twist into Ned's usual routine. Chuck, Ned, and the dead guy break into a hilarious banter of seemingly unimportant topics while Emerson stands back and fumes about them wasting time with the dead guy. After all, they only have one minute to get the truth before Ned has to touch the victim again.

Just in the nick of time, the safety specialist claims that he was killed by a test dummy. But, that is all the information they had time to get out of him before Ned had to give him the final touch. This information of course brought on an investigation of the car manufacturing plant (where we learned that Chuck is fluent in Japanese).

Spoiler Alert: If you haven't seen this episode yet, this is your fair warning to stop reading! Information beyond this point will spoil the episode!

As it turns out, the dandelion chugging car of the future has a critical flaw that causes it to explode at a certain speed and in certain conditions. The company was hiding this fact by destroying test dummies that contained computer data showing the flaw and instead using cadavers for the crash tests. And, our favorite safety specialist was killed by the company CEO to keep quiet about this bit of information.

After escaping death by exploding dandelion car, Ned, Chuck and Emerson save the day and capture the evil CEO.

This was yet another great, fairy-tale inspired episode of Pushing Daisies. We also got a little more of the back-story on Ned as we discovered that his father basically abandoned him after his mother's death by sending him off to boarding school. Chuck also shows more curiosity in Ned's ability and Emerson, our tough guy Private Eye, has a hobby of knitting. Too Funny!!!

Be sure to check out next week's episode when Ned and company have to go back to the funeral home where Ned "rescued" Chuck. Plus, Chuck's aunts get a special delivery from Ned...pies laced with anti-depressants. This will surely be another fantastic episode!
