The Associated Press is reporting that zoo officials in the city of Belgrade, Serbia have found the remains of a man in the cage of two adult bears. The bears, Masha and Misha, reportedly acted aggressively when workers attempted to enter the cage to remove the body.

The bear cage is an open roofed assembly which is located just below a restaurant which has been frequented this week for a beer festival. Authorities believe that the man, believed to be 22 years old according to doctors, may have fallen from a wall at the restaurant above and then been mauled by the bears.

Local media also reported that police had found several cell phones, inside the cage. In addition to this, there were rocks, bricks, and even beer cans. This leads some to believe that the bears have been regularly taunted over the week by possibly intoxicated attendees of the beer festival. This may have led the bears to be overly aggressive and contributed to the mauling of the man.
